Policy Advise and Implementation Support

IGUHC collaborates closely with the National Health Authority (NHA) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and specific state governments. Together, they offer guidance on policies and aid in the execution of Universal Health Coverage, Health Systems Strengthening, Social Health Insurance, Quality of Care, Digital Health, Research and Monitoring, and Health Security initiatives.

The core activities of IGUHC are:

Implementation of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Manati Jan Aarogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY)

Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY is the largest health assurance scheme in the world which aims at providing a health cover of Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization to over 12 crores poor and vulnerable families (approximately 55 crore beneficiaries) that form the bottom 40% of the Indian population.

Implementation of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission

The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) aims to develop the backbone necessary to support the integrated digital health infrastructure of the country. It fosters to bridge the existing gap amongst different stakeholders of healthcare ecosystem through digital highways.

Technical Assistance to states in implementing AB PM-JAY and ABDM

IGUHC provides technical assistance to nearly 10 states implementing the scheme. This assistance encompasses training and capacity building, research, and evaluation, bolstering IT and monitoring systems, quality of care, and Information, Education and Communication (IEC), as well as operational support.
