State Programme

IGUHC provides technical cooperation to the National Health Authority and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) which is the apex body for supporting the implementation of PM-JAY at the national level and the State Governments / State Health Agencies (SHAs).

In order to enhance the capacities of the NHA and the State Health Agencies (SHAs) to manage PM-JAY, MoHFW/NHA in partnership with GIZ, has initiated the ‘Professional Programme for Health Protection (PPHP)’. The objective of the programme is to support the NHA and the SHAs across India in implementing PM-JAY by strengthening its institutional structure through capacity development of stakeholders. Thus, the Programme provides professionals to be placed in the State Governments as well as in the NHA to support the implementation of PM-JAY. NHA and the State governments are supported through professionals with different profiles, i.e. IT, health financing, programme management, capacity building, communications, monitoring and evaluation, public health, medical, finance, IT etc. NHA.
We are currently implementing the professional programme in 17 States with support to the NHA and the Department of Health Research with a strength of 63 professionals with different skills and qualifications.
