NEWS: PM-JAY Southern Regional Review Meeting held in Mahabalipuram

April 6-7, 2022: Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri – Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) has completed three years of implementation. The recently concluded Arogya Manthan 3.0 took note on the significant achievements of the scheme since its launch on 23rd September 2018. As AB PM-JAY enters the fourth year of operation, it is important to take stock of the past and draw a future road map for the scheme.
Further, the nationwide launch of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) has been announced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 27th September 2021 for which an implementation strategy for the expeditious rollout has to be prepared. For the same, Regional Review Meetings, i.e, Ayushman Sangam has been planned this year.
Ayushman Sangam for the year 2022 commenced with the South Zone states/UTs – Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
The Southern Regional Review Meeting was conducted in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu from 6th to 7th April 2022. This exercise reviewed how AB PM-JAY provides an effective platform for key stakeholders to brainstorm on critical aspects of AB PM-JAY, reflect on past learnings and present best practices.
The review meetings also included discussions on establishing an institutional structure for the rollout of ABDM. Additionally, the meeting participants also deliberated on new initiatives for implementation of both AB PM-JAY and ABDM.
The two day event was attended by officials of the states/UTs as well as key officials from the National Health Authority.
