About the Project
The Indo-German Programme for Vocational Education and Training (IGVET) is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Implemented by GIZ, it aims at improving the skills of India’s labour force. The programme is inspired by the German Dual System of Training, which emphasises the active role of the private sector in providing high quality, on-the-job training opportunities.
The first phase of the programme was implemented between 2017 – 2020 across 6 industrial clusters and sectors. and second phase form 2020 to 2024.

Overview
This event will provide an excellent opportunity for senior government officials, private sector leaders, and industry stakeholders to engage in insightful discussions about the successes and lessons learned from IGVET. Additionally, we will introduce the Indo-German Green Skills Programme (IGGSP), which aims to further the collaborative efforts in vocational education with a focus on gender and green skills.
