GIZ India’s IGUHC Organizes the Third ‘Training of Trainers’ Workshop for DIUs and PMAMs from the Northeast Region in Collaboration with the National Health Authority (NHA) and National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW)
From November 29th to December 1st, 2023, GIZ India’s Indo German Programme on Universal Health Coverage (IGUHC), in a successful collaboration with the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), New Delhi, and the National Health Authority (NHA), executed the third iteration of an extensive 3-day ‘Training of Trainers’ workshop. This program targeted the District Implementation Units (DIUs) and Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitras (PMAMs) as integral components of the Ayushman Bharat AB PM-JAY initiative.
A distinguished assembly of participants from the State Health Agencies (SHAs), representing Northeast regions including Tripura, Meghalaya, Manipur, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, and Nagaland, converged to deepen their knowledge and acquire invaluable insights.
The inaugural day at the esteemed National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW) in New Delhi featured engaging and informative sessions led by representatives from the National Health Authority (NHA). A comprehensive range of topics under the AB #PMJAY umbrella were covered, encompassing the Beneficiary Identification System (BIS), Transaction Management System, an overview of the #PMJAY scheme, Standard Treatment Guidelines (STGs), and Claim Adjudication & Audit procedures.

Transitioning to the second day of the workshop, participants were enriched with insightful presentations and in-depth discussions, expertly facilitated by officials from the National Health Authority (NHA). The agenda included pivotal topics such as Health Benefit Packages (HBP), Standard Treatment Guidelines (STGs), Hospital Quality – Accreditation and Certification, Hospital Empanelment Module, and the Central Grievance Redressal System (CGRMS).
Esteemed professors from the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW) in New Delhi delivered highly engaging, thought-provoking, and interactive sessions, covering a spectrum of vital topics including facilitation and training skills, soft skills, communication barriers, and micro-teaching.
This carefully selected cohort from the Northeast states has now transitioned into the second cohort of ‘Master Trainers.’ Their pivotal role involves disseminating enriched knowledge and insights within their regions, serving as beacons in nurturing capacities to navigate the intricacies of the Ayushman Bharat AB PM-JAY scheme. This event serves as a testament to the collective commitment towards strengthening healthcare capacities and driving positive change.
