INDO-GERMAN PROGRAMME ON UNIVERSAL HEALTH COVERAGE

IGUHC partners with ASCI to conduct Programme on Monitoring and Evaluation and Evidence Based Decision Making

Globally, it is being increasingly acknowledged that monitoring and evaluation plays a significant role in understanding the effectiveness of development interventions, designing effective programmes and building the evidence base for policy discussions.
Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) is running in its fifth year of implementation and it is recognised that the importance of Monitoring and Evaluation and use of data for decision making is now paramount.
Keeping this in mind, GIZ’s IGUHC is partnering with the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) to conduct a three-day programme designed to provide insights into theoretical and practical dimensions of conducting monitoring and evaluations. The programme scheduled for December, will cover evaluation design, quantitative and qualitative evaluation methodologies and analyses, questions of rigour and validity; measuring change; designing questionnaires and tools; participatory methods; impact assessment, evaluation ethics; and communicating evaluation results effectively. The focus will be on using the vast data to provide better results and learning.
The programme will enhance knowledge and capacities of several key officials at the National Health Authority and State Health Agencies in understanding the concepts, principles, frameworks and practices in terms of managing evaluations in various field contexts.
The primary objective of the programme is to increase the ability of the participants to understand the concepts in Monitoring and Evaluation and use data effectively in programme monitoring and evaluation. It will also impress upon evidence-based decision- making. Watch this space for more updates.
